Ewen and Robyn have some important information and upcoming events to share with you all, so please take the time to read through everything. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact either of them.
Placings:
From Saturday 15th January, we will be removing the “Placings” that currently allow players to place their golf ball within a club length on the fairways. We’re aware that it’s been a while since we last removed placings, so please look out, and remind other members of your playing groups that you may no longer pick up and place your golf ball on the fairways. We will be regularly reviewing the course conditions and will reintroduce placings if/when required.
Upcoming events:
- Sat 15th Power Play Stableford
- Sat 22nd Stableford
- Sunday 23rd ILT club challenge
This is the last round of the 2021 club challenge. Whilst Queens Park is currently in third place, anything is possible, and it would be great to get a good turnout. To count in the overall challenge, a player must have competed in a previous round last year, but all are welcome to come and participate in the different handicap (stableford) sections.
- Thursday 27th Women's Handicap Foursomes Tournament (Postponed from 2021)
- Saturday 29th 4BBB Stableford & Women's Opening Day 2022
- Tuesday 1st February Women's Opening Day 2022
Waitangi weekend:
- As members may be aware the Disc Golf Championships are being held at the Park over Waitangi weekend (Friday through to Monday). Unfortunately, this means that we won’t be having any formal golf competitions over this period at QP. This includes the Par 3 tournament that we originally had scheduled for the Monday.
Options for Members Include:
- We have an interclub with Hedgehope on Saturday 5th Feb at Hedgehope.
- There is a charity tournament at Tuatapere on Sunday 6th Feb 12pm tee off $25 per person and entries close Feb 2nd
- We will have reciprocal rights at Green Acres over Waitangi weekend
- The 9 holes on the East side of the course will be open and available to have a hit of golf over Waitangi weekend.
Men's Club Champs:
A reminder that we are on a tight schedule for completion of the men's club champs once again, thanks to some Covid delays. Please complete your matches as soon as possible.
Thanks to those who have already completed their matches.
The draws are in the changing room and also on Facebook. If you are having trouble contacting your opponent, please contact Ewen (0274 324 100), and he will be able to put you in touch.
Handicap Pennants / Vice President Pennants:
Attached are the conditions and entry forms relating to the Handicap and Vice Presidents Pennants competitions. Anyone interested in entering a team or being involved, contact Ewen or Alissa. Rex has kindly helped organise the Vice Presidents for the last few years, but won’t be doing that this year, so we’ll be looking for someone to help with managing that.
Good luck to the QP members participating in the South Island strokeplay championships at Otatara in the weekend. They include Liam, Ngarimu and Dale.
